Wednesday 6/19- Before leaving the park, we had a fossil safari guided tour through the restricted area of the Nature preserve. Started off a little boring (per Joey and Obi) but by the end they had a great time. Joey found two newly uncovered bones (potentially T-rex) according to the paleontologist. It was the first time someone had actually discovered a new bone on a tour with him, which was cool. Joey was bummed he couldn’t take it home.😂
Hit the road about 5pm, which was a really late start for us, and arrived at Banff National Park about 10pm mountain time. On the way, we stopped for gas and food at “Crust and Curry” which was the best Indian food I’ve ever had + a cheese pizza for the kids. The view at our site was incredible and there were even some elk were hanging around our campsite. The kids ran around with glowsticks before crashing after a long day. Jasper and the Icefields Parkway tomorrow.
